Italian actress Maria Guilia, 21, wears many faces: mathematics major, style-conscious model, competitive equestrian, and classically-trained thespian of the stage and screen.

But for this Milan-based performer—who starred in the art-house film, “Milo & Olivia,” which screened at the Cefalù Film Festival—acting is by far her greatest passion.

When casting calls and voice classes leave her breathless, this horse lover likes to recharge her batteries in Boscoincittà, a 300-acre park of woodlands, walking paths, and wide open spaces. With or without her stallion in tow, she takes off-the-grid elegance to another level in pleated skorts, prune-colored button-downs, cigarette pants, and blouson jackets—all cut from her favorite fabric, corduroy—which, like Maria Guilia herself, is at once polished and sporty, refined and ready for adventure.
